Subject: Break through regarding Christmas

Hi all,
After several solicitors letters my ex has conceded some ground regarding my daughter traveling to South Africa over Christmas. I get daughter on both weekends before Christmas (11-13th)(18-20th) and both weekends on her return from South Africa (15-17th)(23-24th). And this is extended access from Fri through to Sun rather than Sat to Sun.
Whilst its not perfect it does mean the break is only 4 weeks and we get to celebrate Christmas a bit closer to the actual date and travel to see my family :-)
My ex had originally responded saying that her travel dates were from 19th December to 14th January and so my contact could only be the weekends either side. However in a follow up letter we asked for proof of tickets to confirm the dates. Guess what - since our last contact she has been able to change her flights from 19th to 23rd December and now proposes to offer the weekend of Fri 18th through to 20th as additional contact. Wow - I didn't realise she cared that much to incur what must have been considerable costs of changing flights just to allow my extended access ;-)
Anyway, despite her blatant lying about dates so that I would not have contact on weekend 19th, 20th I am now able to have this weekend. It doesn't seem so bad now.

Yipee, This is good news Jools I am so thrilled for you and your Daughter, this will also set a president for future contact arrangements for you both.
Your ex as you say was clearly lying about the dates strange when asked for proof they back down. Well done you and your solicitor, ok cost a few quid but when kids are involved they are priceless. Excellent excellent. Keep going for your daughters sake bless her heart. xx

Yes, its cost best part of £1500 but it has been the catalyst for me to get increased contact and its highlighted that I am equally important in my daughters life and have rights!
Like you say, the increased contact does set a president for increased contact.

I am so chuffed for you and what's £1500 (i know) but your Daughter is priceless and we will do anything for our children no matter what it costs.
Have a great early xmas she is a lucky little girl a gift from god that's what i say.

Ah but then like me you have grandchildren and do it all over again lol. Jool enjoy playing with your daughters presents coz you won't get a look in afterwards. lol
