Subject: A bit of advice
Posted By Tomas on 05-02-2010
Hi,
I have recently written a play entitled "Matryoshka" based on the experience of a very close family friend who was caught up in a long and emotionally fraught divorce case. She is a mother with three young children who was also very ill at throughout the proceedings.
I worked closely with a divorce lawyer on the piece because I felt that it was important to keep it as accurate as possible and not to misrepresent the honest difficulties on all sides inherent in such cases.
Now that it is written I am hugely keen for people who have been touched by this issue to give me feedback. I would be happy to post a link to the script if there is any interest. Otherwise everyone is welcome to come and respond to the production. It opens at the Landor Theatre in Clapham, London, on February 23rd.

Post the link and I'would be interested in reading it. I don't know if I would want to go to see something on this theme at the theatre though - before I had experienced it, I might have found it entertaining but now I would find it depressing. I did see a good comedy on the subject on TV and that was quite nice because at the end, after the court proceedings wetre over, they got back together, saying, you and me, we've got too much history to just throw it away. In real life of course that doesn't happen so I would tend to go for a good uplifting musical!

Apologies for being so slow in posting the link, I'm still working out the technicalities for putting the whole script online.
It will be up as soon as possible on the website at: http://www.matryoshkaaplay.co.uk
